A four-season room built like the rest of the house — insulated, heated, on real foundations — so it earns its place twelve months a year.
The work
There are two kinds of sunroom in Ottawa: the prefabricated three-season kind that gets closed up in October, and the built one that becomes a room you live in. We build the second.
That means frost-depth foundations, framed and insulated walls and roof, high-performance glazing, and a heating source that is either an extension of the existing system or a dedicated one. The glazing ratio is designed for comfort, not maximum glass.
Because it is a real addition, it is permitted, inspected and integrated into the house's structure and mechanical systems — and it counts as living space.

Insulated walls, roof and floor assemblies with proper air sealing, built to the same standard as the house.

Triple- or high-performance double-glazed units with a glass area balanced for comfort and heat loss.

Ducted extension, in-floor heat or a dedicated unit — sized for the space rather than borrowed from the next room.

Connected to the house
Floor heights aligned and the opening between rooms widened so it feels like part of the plan.
