Home renovations in Kanata
From the mature Beaverbrook bungalows to the two-storey builds in Bridlewood and Morgan's Grant, we have been renovating Kanata homes for decades — basements, kitchens, bathrooms and additions.
Renovating in Kanata
Kanata is really several housing eras stacked side by side. Beaverbrook and Katimavik homes are now fifty and sixty years old — solid bones, but original kitchens, single bathrooms and unfinished lower levels. Bridlewood, Emerald Meadows and Morgan's Grant are newer, with builder-grade finishes that homeowners outgrow rather than break.
That mix changes the work. Older Kanata homes usually need structural and mechanical attention alongside the finishes — panel upgrades, duct rerouting, sometimes a beam where a wall used to be. Newer homes are mostly about finishing space that was never completed: the basement, the bonus room over the garage, a proper mudroom off the double car garage.
We have crews who have worked west-end Ottawa their whole careers. That matters for scheduling, for knowing which inspectors want what, and for knowing how a 1968 bungalow behaves once you open the ceiling.

Permits & approvals
Most of Kanata is standard residential zoning with generous lots, so additions are usually straightforward — but rear-yard setbacks and lot coverage still govern. We handle the permit set, the survey coordination and the inspections.
What we build here
The projects Kanata homeowners ask for most
01
Basement finishing
The single most common Kanata project. Rec room, guest bedroom with an egress window, three-piece bath and generous storage — warm, dry and permitted.
02
Kitchen renovations
Removing the wall between kitchen and dining, adding an island, and replacing builder cabinetry with millwork sized to the room.
03
Mudrooms and garage entries
Kanata houses have the garage; they rarely have anywhere to put boots. A proper mudroom with lockers and a durable floor changes winter.
04
Additions and bump-outs
Rear extensions on Beaverbrook bungalows, second-storey additions where the lot allows, and four-season sunrooms replacing tired decks.
