Helping Bring a Little More Joy to Ottawa This Holiday Season

A celebration of community, compassion, and the people who make this city feel like home.

The Help Santa Toy Parade has been a part of Ottawa’s holiday season for over fifty years. It brings families together, invites neighbours to share a moment of generosity, and supports children who deserve a brighter Christmas. This year, the event celebrated its 56th year. It continued its long tradition of raising funds for Toy Mountain and helping ensure that families across the city feel supported during the holidays.

Some members of the Magnolia Construction team participated in the parade last year, but this year held a special meaning. We had the honour of pulling Santa’s sleigh, and many of our staff spent the day volunteering, helping with set-up, and supporting the toy drive. Being part of the behind-the-scenes work gave us an even deeper appreciation for the care that goes into making this event happen. It reminded us that small contributions can have a real impact, especially for families facing a difficult season. We know that shared moments of generosity are what help build resilience in a community. Participating in something that brings joy to many people was both humbling and rewarding.

Our CEO, Joey Peloso, strives to ensure our involvement reflects the core values that guide our work every day. When we step into a client’s home, our goal is always to provide quality, comfort, and a space they will enjoy for years to come. A renovation is more than just a project to us; it shapes daily routines, family moments, and long-term memories. Just as we see integrity in the materials we use, we recognize its importance in our community engagement. That’s why we depend on skilled craftsmanship and premium materials, and why we approach each home with care and respect. These principles naturally extend to how we engage with our community.

Supporting local initiatives allows us to give back to the city that has welcomed us into so many homes. Strong communities are built through consistent and genuine involvement. The Help Santa Toy Parade reminds us of the incredible things that can happen when people unite around a shared goal. We are truly grateful for the opportunity to contribute.

Looking ahead, we remain dedicated to participating in events, charitable initiatives, and partnerships that strengthen our community. We are grateful to have been part of the parade’s 56th year and look forward to continuing this tradition in the years to come.
